CANCELED - TAB BOD & Committee Meetings
As the concerns over coronavirus/COVID-19 escalate around the country, we have seen multiple official actions by local, state and national officials to limit the spread of the virus.
Since our last communication on Friday, the President has declared a national emergency over the epidemic, Governor Abbott has declared a state-wide emergency declaration and the City of Austin has banned all gatherings of 250 more individuals and is considering lowering that number to 50 today. Yesterday (March 15) the Centers for Disease Control issued a recommendation “that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.”
As the health and safety of our TAB membership, staff, sponsors and other partners is our utmost concern, the Senior Management Committee has made the decision to suspend all in-person Association meetings until April 30, 2020. This includes the upcoming TAB Board and Committee meetings scheduled for next week in Austin, March 25 - 27, and all other in-person Association related meetings or events scheduled during this time period. Staff travel will also be suspended during this time.
Rest assured, TAB staff will be working closely with your elected senior leadership as we continue to operate the day-to-day functions of the Association and work with our membership, the National Association of Home Builders and our 27 local home builders associations to meet the needs of our members during this challenging time. We will also be coordinating with our various TAB Committee Chairs to organize committee meetings via conference call on an as needed basis during the weeks ahead.
