Sunbelt Set for August 2-3 at Hilton Anatole Dallas

The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) is set to host its 17th annual Sunbelt Builders Show™ August 2 – 3 inside the Hilton Anatole, marking the first time Sunbelt has been in Dallas since 2003. The Show will feature a multitude of exhibits, educational sessions, and unique business and networking opportunities.

This event brings together hundreds of Texas’ top residential home builders, developers and remodelers. Sunbelt’s exhibit hall will host more than 200 of the nation’s top building product manufacturers and suppliers, all displaying the newest, most innovative products, services, and technologies available in housing today.

The Show is set to provide attendees interactive education sessions centered around the opportunities and challenges within the residential building marketplace. Session topics include energy code mandates, trends in design, mechanic’s liens, sales and marketing techniques, and taxes. One of the most highly anticipated education session is the 2017-19 Texas Residential Construction Contracts class, which will provide an overview of the new laws resulting from the 85th Texas Legislative Session. This year’s event also features a pair of inspirational keynote speakers Darren Woodson and Nate Holzapfel.

Three-time Super Bowl champion and five-time Pro Bowl selection, Darren Woodson is one of the greatest players to ever wear a Dallas Cowboys uniform and is this year’s opening session speaker. Woodson earned a reputation as one of the hardest hitters and most ferocious strong safeties in the NFL during his 13 seasons (1992-2004), all with the Dallas Cowboys. He was the quarterback of the team’s defense during its three championship runs in the 1990s (Super Bowl’s XXVII, XXVIII and XXX). A native of Phoenix, Ariz., Woodson was a second round pick in the 1992 NFL Draft (37th overall) from Arizona State University. He’s a board member for the Make A Wish Foundation (North Texas) and a television analyst for ESPN. The opening session, "Accepting Change", is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 9:30 a.m.

The 9:30 a.m. general session, "Building. Business. Relationships," on Thursday is also a must attend event. Entrepreneur Nate Holzapfel is the creative force and co-founder behind Mission Belt Company. Every time a Mission Belt is sold, a portion of the proceeds goes to assist hungry families through interest free micro lending on a global level. To date, the company has helped over 15,000 families in the fight against hunger. Holzapfel is an expert in sales & marketing. In the spring of 2013, he appeared on ABC TV’s “Shark Tank,” pitching the Mission Belt to seek a capital investment. Holzapfel struck a deal with fashion mogul and branding expert, Daymond John. He pitched to the Sharks that the “old way of selling is dead.” His ideology and method proved not only correct, but to be a huge success. Instead of using clichés and one liners, he will speak directly to the audience from his heart with meaningful, real life experiences sharing information that is relevant to growing a business in today’s world.
