2024 EXCELLENCE UNDER 45 AWARD WINNER
Mindy Hamilton| Vice President of Residential Development | Hamilton Group | East Texas BA
Mindy Hamilton is the Vice President of Residential Development for the Hamilton Group, a three generational family-owned business based out of Longview, Texas. Her company is a community leader in design-build homes and has recently entered the commercial market to make beautiful, completely custom homes and workspaces for their clients.
Mindy has worn many hats within the Hamilton Group, with experience in business management, design, client relations and more. Her training started at a young age when she and her three siblings pushed brooms and picked up trash on job sites, but she officially came aboard after graduating in 2011 as a summa cum laude from East Texas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Her father, Scott Hamilton, taught her all facets of the business, from special orders to project supervision, estimating to client coordination. While working full time, she earned her MBA through Texas A&M Texarkana online and as well as obtained an American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Affiliate membership by developing skills in spatial planning and architectural design.
Mindy works alongside her parents Scott and Renee, her brother Marshal and about a dozen full-time staff members who are as close as family. She has seen the company come a long way since its inception in Scott and Renee’s home in the ’90s, but the heart of Hamilton Group has remained consistent throughout all the growth. Mindy Hamilton places the highest value on customer satisfaction and explains “We want to offer design-build to make sure we capture what our clients are looking for when they first come in the door. That’s our specialty — we focus on the small details and make it our mission to make sure that those details get translated and executed well for our clients.” To accomplish this, she embraces the 3D design process to digitally navigate through a space with the client and cherishes moments when they stand together at a job site and see first-hand how the ideas were translated into reality.
Mindy is a major contributor to the building association community. She has been actively involved in her local association, serving as president of East Texas Builders Association in 2021 and currently serving as VP. She served as the chair of the sporting clays tournament, which is the main fundraiser for scholarships given through ETBA. She has also served on the Home & Design Show and Membership Committees, the Nominating Committee, and has also chaired the Parade of Homes Committee. She also served on the Drafting Design Technology Advisory Committee for Kilgore College seeking to bolster its design department.
At TAB, Mindy is a wonderful asset and enthusiastic volunteer. She serves as a State Director and vice-president of the Young Professionals Council and is a voting member on TAB’s Government Relations Committee, HOMEPAC Trustees, Developers Council, Professional Women in Building Council, and Sunbelt Builders ShowTM Committee. In 2025, Mindy will be the president of TAB’s Young Professionals Council. She makes it a point to be involved at the state level and ensures she attends all meetings to learn, grow, and be an active voice in the industry at-large.
Nationally, Mindy holds the Secretary position for the American Custom Builders Council and works closely with the EOs to plan meetings, keep the minutes, and serves with the programming committee with the goal of circulating best practices among builders all over the country.
