ÂÂAUSTIN, Texas – Brett Martin, Vice President of Real Estate Operations for Tilson Homes and a member of the Greater Houston Builders Association, was installed as the 78th President of the Texas Association of Builders at the Excellence in Leadership Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 20th, 2024, at the Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop, Texas. The role of the association’s president is to provide guidance and leadership at the highest level, establishing a solid foundation that enables the association to grow and thrive. Brett’s brother, Eddie Martin, President at Tilson Home Corporation and a past TAB President, conducted the installation.
Brett Martin has been involved in the building industry for the last 25 years. The first 11 years were spent providing construction financing to builders and permanent financing to homeowners. For the last 14 years, he has been Sr. Vice President of Real Estate Operations for Tilson Custom Homes. At TAB, Brett has served on multiple committees including being the Audit Committee Chairman for 4 years and Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee for 5 years. He has been a member of the Executive Committee for the past 11 years and a Senior Officer for the last 7 years. A native Texan, Brett was born in Pecos, Texas. His family soon thereafter moved to Lubbock, then to Houston. After high school, he attended Abilene Christian University. After graduating with a BBA in Accounting and subsequently obtaining his CPA, he began his professional career with Arthur Young, focusing on Financial, Construction and Real Estate clients.
At his installation ceremony, Brett explained that "...as builders, we are not merely constructing houses; we are building homes where families create memories, where dreams take shape, and where communities thrive. Our work is not just about bricks and mortar; it's about the lives we touch and the legacies we leave behind....And it is our responsibility, as builders, to ensure that the Texas dream remains within reach for all who seek it."
